ALMI Business Development Agency in
Västerbotten
ALMI is a public agency for business development in the county
of Västerbotten in Northern Sweden. We are totally12 business
advisers plus administrative staff in Umea and Skelleftea. Our
activities include advising individual companies, offering training
and financing. We have around 600 customers. In tourism we have
specialised in small scale nature tourism, since that is where
we see expanding future markets.
Besides individual support we are engaged in the Swedish Nature's
Best quality label. We take part in a project promoting packaging
of attractive combinations to long distance customers. And we
work with the SAT project, where we have visited a number of companies
that will be our pilot group. We shall with them test the ideas
and solutions that come up during the project. These companies
offer hunting, fishing, sledge riding, skiing and the creation
of packages. Later on we shall seek contact with all companies
we know of to offer them the benefits of SAT.
