Selected tour operators in the Canadian territory of Nunavut will gather in February for a pilot training course in how to ensure
quality and safety in all their business operations, a topic based on one of the Sustainable Arctic Tourism Principles (link to principles).
The training is organized by SMART-project partner Nunavut Tourism (link to Nunavut Tourism?)
and will cover general as well as arctic- and Nunavut-specific topics. The course material has been developed in
cooperation with trainers and companies, but still it is a pilot test and participants will help to further improve this tool through their
feedback. Similar courses will be held in other arctic regions.
For more information contact Kira Pena at Nunavut Tourism.
